Synology: using cache buffer SSD for Roon databases

Hi, Great New!

I am a Synology 916+ user and however, my configuration is running 3x 4T HDD in Raid 5 and using a 256G SSD as cache.

In this configuration, can I still install the Roon Server on the SSD while it is acting as a cache buffer? OR I need to add an external SSD?

Are you able to create a “RoonServer” share on that SSD while it is being used as a cache buffer? If so, it will work fine.

If the cache works the same way as QNAP’s, then no.

You would have to turn off cacheing, then provision the SSD as a separate DataVol. After that, create the RoonServer share on the SSD.
