Tag malfunction

I have several albums iunder a few Tags, related in my mind. (They are recommendations from Darko, his readers, etc.) Their names all begin with “DAT”. (But I have other tags that begin with all caps, and work correctly.)

When I go to Tags in the menu and scroll to these, they are there. Click on the Dar tag, click on one of the albums, it is tagged correctly, everything works.

But when I am under albums and select those tags, I get 0 albums.

Btw, these are all Tidal albums. When I add a non-Tidal album to this tag, it shows up but the Tidal ones do not. But this is not a universal problem: other Tags have Tidal albums and they work correctly.

Just to add to the mystery:

  1. I went to the tag browser, selected the DAR tag, opened it, selected all albums and created a new tag and add them. They still behave this way, show up in the Tags browser but not tag-filtered in the album browser.
  2. Same thing but instead of creating a new tag, I added them to an existing tag. Same behavior, when I filter the album browser by that tag, the previous albums show up but the DAR ones do not.

All these DAR albums were added to the library from Tidal during the same evening session.

This is in the album browser right? You see the album listed on the tags details page, but when you view the tag in the album browser you don’t see it? Can you post a screenshot of this?

What do you see on the album details page? Is the tag displayed there?

When was this tag created?

Correct. And the album details page is correct. These tags were all created at the same time, January some time, but when I create new tags on these albums I get the same result. But other albums not. Check the Test for Mike tag.
This is the test situation.
I brought in 33 Tidal albums and tagged them DAR tops. They show up in the Tag browser but not in the Album browser.

I also tagged all 33 with a newly created tag, Digital Audio Reviews. Same behavior:

I also added one of these Tidal albums, and a local album, to Test for Mike.
They show up in the Tag browser but not in the Album browser:

The Album detail page shows all the tags, here is the problematic Tidal Album:

and here is the ok local Album:

BUT it is not a Tidal problem, here is the Album browser filtered that contains a Tidal albums:

I can’t find a pattern.

I was kind of stumped here, but Brian had an idea: Any chance things make more sense with Show Duplicates set to on?

You don’t have a Show Duplicates setting.
You mean Show Hidden? No change.

And the gray albums don’t have multiple versions.

Annoying I can’t find a pattern. Like I said, clear cache doesn’t work. I’ll uninstall the app do I get rid of all local data. If it recurs, we know the bad data is on the server.

Ah, shoot, I was thinking about the album graphics problem.
Answered the wring question. Ignore, I’ll post on the right thread.

Now, about this one…

Aha, good intuition: Show Hidden brought them in.
None of them have Duplicates or multiple versions. They are all Tidal. And they were all added 29 Nov 2016, during an evening session.

I told you that adding a local album to that tag worked ok. But I also added another a Tidal album, added to my library a year ago, and that one worked.

So something happened on Nov 29 to mess up that hidden flag.

And Unhide in Edit solved the problem.

But I have not hidden the albums manually. I think… Is it possible that I did? These are albums I don’t want to see, I just explored Darko’s and his readers’ recommendations and hated them all. But I don’t think I hid them, that’s why I set that tag do I can exclude them.

But it is at least conceivable that I did it myself. In that case, I apologize profusely. I suggest you ignore this until we get another occurrence.

Just chalk it down to pilot error. Dang.
