Tagging/Adding to Playlist all Albums in a Storage location?

Hi,

How can I use Focus to either Tag or Add to Playlist albums in a selected storage location?

Cheers,

Zera

Is this the information you’re missing?

Corrected question:
How can I use Focus to either Tag or Add to Playlist ALL albums in a selected storage location?

Select all the albums from the Focus result and add them to a Tag or Playlist.

Thanks for your help however, I thinks I’m dumb. “how do I browse albums to make a selection from a specific Storage:Location only?”

“Storage location” is a selection criteria in Focus.

Note: If you never setup more than one storage location, check Settings|Storage, it’s rather pointless though.

Just so you know, “storage locations” also includes streaming services:

Hi,

Yes I have many storage locations. Thanks for your help. Ive never seen storage locations under Focus before. I guess Ive never scrolled further along the focus options before!

As always, there are different ways to get what you want. If you are adding to a playlist, then you are really adding tracks, not albums per se. So, you can go to the Tracks screen. Go all the way to the right and click the gear which allows you to select other display fields, one of which it PATH. Choose Path.

Now you will be able to filter on the file path name. At this point, you can add them to a playlist or a Tag. (FYI,Tags can be on tracks, albums, artists, genres, composers, compositions, and other tags and they can all be mixed in the same tag).

Tags added at this point are to the tracks individually, If you want the tags on the Album and not the tracks, then follow on below.

Once filtered, add all the tracks to a Tag, example, Test1.

Then go to the album Screen filter on Tag Test1, then select and add all the albums to Tag, Test1.

Now go back to Tags, go into Tag Test1, you will see the description should say x albums and y tracks. Albums are sorted to the start of the Tag contents. Highlight all the tracks and remove them from the Tag. Now you are left with a Tag applied only to the albums in a specific storage location.

It sounds really busy, but, once you get the workflow down, you can do the above in less than a minute.
