Guys sorry this might be a stupid question but I keep forgetting.. attached to the song that’s in my library on my hard drive but I can’t seem to automatically just tag it there’s no option do I need to do something before as in like it or add it to a library or something? I just want to tag songs quickly that I like when I hear them so that I can refer back to them later
You can only tag (or favorite, edit, etc) things that are in your Roon library.
However, you can add non-library things to a playlist, so you can do this quickly. Or click on the Listen Later button
Yes once again I just realised I didn’t have that album in there and I thought I did. Thanks again
I edited this into my post while you were answering, may be helpful:
Thanks as always for all your help I really appreciate it
So got another question I’m now going to download using the roon ark smart download feature but I can’t get roon ark working yet but I want to use these songs in offline mode. Does the Smart download feature actually store the music on my phone’s so I can use it offline. Basically I want to use roon radio and get roon to select the songs from my library
Does that make sense essentially I want to use it for offline mode listening while I walk etc ?
Yes
Kind of. You still need to have internet access on the phone at least once every two weeks (for license checks etc) but this doesn’t seem to be a problem. (It just needs normal internet access to reach the Roon cloud, it doesn’t need to be able to reach your Roon server at home.)
Note that sometimes it loses album covers in offline mode and only shows the gray squares, but the music should play fine.
All sorted on any support forward the port so it’s all good now so I’ll just use the regular arc. Thanks ![]()
Keep in mind you can only download local music files with ARC, you cannot download music from a streaming service.
