Is it possible to standardize and make more harmonious to either put the tags in uppercase like genres or the genres in lowercase like tags?
I hope not.
Many versions ago tags and genres had different colors for the buttons so they were easily distinguishable. Somewhere along the line they were both standardised as grey and now the only visual cue left is the case.
But there is nothing to stop you editing tags to uppercase. I frequently do that with some tags. For example, TOTP (Top of the Pops):
(The tag empty by the way as I am away from home and not attached to my home server. Gave up on Arc along time ago.)
Another example, ECM:
I intentionally use a combination of upper and lower case for tags. For instance, CATALOGUE, CD, DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, VINYL RIP etc., and The Fear of Music, 1001 Albums, Various Artists and so on.
I like the flexibility.
I’m confused. Where are Genres uppercase? All my genres in all locations are mixed case like everything else in Roon.
Never mind. It is uppercase in the album display. It’s mixed case everywhere else in Roon. It’s mixed case in the Genres page, it’s mixed case in focus, it’s mixed case when you select Genre while editing an album. I wonder why Roon decided to make it different in this one situation?
