Tags with unicode truncated when exporting[fixed]

When exporting files, tags with a unicode character in them are being truncated:

Marc-André Hamelin becomes Marc-André Hameli
Camille Saint-Saëns becomes Camille Saint-Saën
Antonin Dvorák becomes Antonin Dvorá

File/folder names are not affected, just tags.

The core is running on Linux, the client where I’m exporting is MacOS 10.13.1

That’s interesting … let’s add a tag for @support to follow-up on this.

Thanks, I forgot to tag support. It was late

Hi @matt ----- Thank you for the report and sharing your feedback with us! The insight is always appreciated

Moving forward, I am going to be passing your report over to our tech team for some “in house” testing to see what they can come up with based on the information in your post. Once I have a sense of their progress and findings I will be sure to provide you with an update in a timely manor. Your patience is very appreciated!

No worries. After a bit more testing I can confirm that the tags are losing one character off the end for each Unicode character in the tag, e.g.

Frédéric Chopin becomes Frédéric Chop

It looks like the length is being calculated using bytes instead of characters somewhere.

We should have a fix for this in our next stable build, whenever that is.

This is mostly right, we were passing length in characters where we should have been passing the length in bytes.
