Tailscale Update Conflict on Nucleus One (ref#MRKRSE)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I had some issues with the Roon ARC connections earlier, hence I have installed Tailscale. I have got four machines connected to it: laptop (Macbook), phone (iPhone), Nucleus One and Synology NAS. The reason for NAS connection is because I host my digitised music there and not in Nucleus One (historical reasons). The Tailscale software is up to date on all machines, except for Nucleus One. The Tailscale version on it is 1.72.1 for Linux 6.6.33 and when I want to update it I receive firstly an info: "Security update available: This machine is running a version with a known security vulnerability. It’s recommended to update to 1.94.1.” and then when I press the button “Start Update” I get two conflicting messages: “nucleusone updated” and “Failed to update nucleusone: node returned error: "failed to find cmd/tailscale binary: tailscale executable not found in expected place””.
Can you please let me know how I can update Tailscale on nucleus one?
Thanks, Adam

Hello @adamkucharczyk1,

Thanks for reaching out with this question.

I would like to clarify that Tailscale is integrated directly into the Roon OS firmware on your Nucleus One. It cannot be updated as a separate component.

Updates to the Tailscale implementation are delivered automatically as part of standard Roon OS updates.

Could you please let us know what prompted you to look for an update? Are you experiencing a specific connectivity issue that you are hoping a newer version will resolve?

Thanks.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply! The reason I addressed this subject is twofold: 1/ I had issues with connection to Ronn ARC and 2/ these error messages on Tailscale. I thought they were somehow linked together. However, The Ronn ARC has been resolved with the recent app update and it looks like the Tailscale error messages are not correct.
So I guess I should ignore them and do nothing at the moment if I do not experience any issues currently?
Thanks and best,
Adam
