· Telegraph Road track appears to be unavailable in The Best of Dire Straits and Mark Mark Knopfler - Private Investigations album. I can see it just fine in Qobuz, but it’s unavailable when I bring up the album in roon. And a search for the track does not bring up the album. I’m new to roon. Any assistance appreciated.
Same here (Germany), and on Tidal in Roon, too, but it’s not really available in the first party apps, either. Respectively, just a 30 second sample in the Qobuz app:
This is a licensing issue, I suspect. You are quite right that the track shows as unavailable on this album in Roon, but it is also marked as “Sample” in the Qobuz app…
Thank you for the report. As the community has confirmed, this is a licensing issue on Qobuz’s side — the track availability varies by region and is outside of Roon’s control. Please contact Qobuz support directly to report the issue.
In the meantime, the track is available in full on the original Love Over Gold album, which you can add to your library as a workaround.
This will ultimately be something Qobuz resolves, but we wanted to clarify what’s happening here. It’s a bit of a bowl of spaghetti in licensing terms, but interesting nuance for those curious about distribution rights.
There are two different major-label record companies controlling this release, depending on the geographic market. The US edition rides on the Mercury→Warner license, the international editions on Universal’s own grant. Those can diverge independently.
So, the track-level streaming for this compilation is administered independently and also per territory. That’s not going to necessarily be true for an album, which is why you can still find the track on Love Over Gold.
We’ll allow this to close after another day or two, so please reach out if you have any other discrepancies here.
