Terminates on startup after new install

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Win 10 Pro, i10, 64 gb mem, Roon 1.8

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Using locally to start, Music on internal SATA drives

Hardwired speaker on ASUS mobo to start.

New install of 1.8, got about halfway through indexing my 100K library and terminated. I restarted Roon. Got the Welcome to 1.8 message, clicked on “Learn More” and after a few seconds, it terminated again. Rebooted the machine, restarted Roon, and same behavior. Doubt it matters, but created and linked a new Tidal account.

Hey @Jodd_Readick,

Welcome to the Roon community

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble! We’d love to help - many times, crashes like this one are associated with automatic Windows updates that can be unreliable especially when it comes to the graphics drivers.

Could you please uninstall and reinstall the graphics drivers directly from the manufacturer’s site?

Thanks in advance

That did not solve the problem.

Thanks for trying, @Jodd_Readick. If you’re willing, there are a couple other steps that can help:

Please try each of these steps, and try to launch Roon after each.

  1. Reboot the Windows machine
  2. Reinstall the Roon app
  3. Disable the devices firewall
  4. If this helps, please enter an exception in the firewall for Roon and RAATServer
  5. Download .NET Framework and reinstall it

I’m hoping you can give those a try too
