Thank You Roon! But

I’ve been an early adopter and evangelist for Sonos since their early days. But the new Sonos App as it stands now, with the rollout that preceded it, is an absolute train wreck. I finally took a trial of ROON and have been amazed at how flawlessly it plays with all - ALL - of my Sonos devices (and there are many of them). But it doesn’t just work with my sonos gear it works with everything else in my home as well. But you all already knew that.
I would say the only place Sonos has an edge is in it’s service integration with things like TuneIn and MyTunerRadio. I / we listen to a lot of internet radio and where possible I manually add the direct stream URLs. I often write to the stations I listen to and ask for the URL and many give it, but more just ignore the request. I really dont like Tune-In but MyTuner Radio is awesome and ad free. I would love to see this integration.
And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make it possible to sort and search by “Album Artist” not just artist…
Thank you for liberating me from Sonos without having to divest of all the gear!

I’m not sure I understand, but Focus lets you choose any performer (not just primary artist) and My Albums> Sort by Artist seems to sort by Album Artist for me. The search also seems to find artists that are not primary, e.g., searching for Jon Lord finds Deep Purple. Maybe I misunderstand you completely

Edit: And in My Tracks you can configure columns. Album Artist is always enabled and you can enable (Track) Artist in addition. You can then sort and search by column.

Thanks for chiming in. Yes, I’ve been really playing with the library categories and it appears you are correct. I’ve looked at all my compliation albums and collaboration albums like Ray Charles “Genius Loves Company” and it seems that when I select “Artist” from the menu it’s pulling up Ray Charles and not Ray Charles +. In my other media programs like JRiver, UAPP both Artist and Album Artist view are possible. I always default to main artist and it seems so does Roon. I’m getting the hang of it.
