Describe the issue
My daily mixes don't really change much during the week even if I add new artists, songs and tracks that I like to the library. I get the same artists through the week. What can I do?
Describe your network setup
I use wi-fi not sure about the model.
Is there anyone that can help with this?
Hey @Cristhian_Marin,
Thanks for writing in!
Based on your account, I’m seeing around 600 tracks in your library, mostly from Tidal?
Can you provide a more specific example of this, and one that is currently occurring? Our team can enable diagnostic mode on your Roon Server machine to take a more specific look into what might be happening.
If you safely stop Roon Server from running, and then give both your windows machine and router a reboot, do you still see the same daily mixes through out the week?
We’ll be monitoring this thread for your reply. Thank you!
Hey Benjamin, thanks for your response.
So, what’s happening is that the artist in the daily mix are often the same ones. Let’s say that I have in the Daily Mixes the following artist: Kokoroko, Green Tea Peng, Melanie di Bascio, Andrew Bird, Four Tet & Kamaal Williams.
Those same artist reappear during the week, for example, three times a week or more but in different order. Or they change with other repeating artists that are also recurrent. And just one or two days a week, one new artist seems to appear even if I add more music and artist in my favorites.
I stopped the Roon Server from running, rebooted the router and my windows machine but the Daily mixes are the same.
I hope that this provides more contexts and if you need anything else, please let me know.
Hey @Cristhian_Marin,
Thanks for the info! We’re not seeing any obvious issues yet, and so it could be the case that Roon needs a bit more time with your library.
In the meantime, if you’d like to share a set of your Roon Server logs, we can definitely take a closer look. Please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?
Thanks!
Hey @benjamin
Thanks for your response. I followed the instructions you sent over and I sent you the log files.
Let me know if there is anything else needed on my end.
Thanks!
Hey @Cristhian_Marin,
Thanks for sending those over, we’re still not seeing any errors in relation to the mixes themselves - have you tried force resyncing your Tidal account through Roon? Navigate to Roon Settings>Services>Tidal>Edit> Force sync.
Then, reboot Roon and let me know if anything changes or updates
Hi @benjamin, thanks for the follow-up.
I did what you suggested and I saw a change in the recommendations of the daily mixes comparted to the first time I logged in in Roon. However, the artist that are suggested are artist in my library that I have seen before and not really new artists.
Is this issue of having same artist rotating but not really changing a common thing or do the artist in this Roon feature will be different and new depending on my listening habits, likes and so on? I understand that the suggestions would be different and if that’s the case, the issue seems to continue.
Thank you for your help!
Hey @Cristhian_Marin,
Thats’ good news, and makes sense for your library size right now. Valence creates Daily Mixes based on the artists you listen to most frequently. Adding an artist to your library helps, but your listening history has the biggest impact. If your library is small and your history doesn’t include many tracks by the same artists (like in playlists with a lot of variety and no repeating artists), Valence might initially generate similar content and mixes. Over time, as you listen more, the mixes will become more personalized.
For now, it doesn’t seem like its a technical issue. If things don’t seem to change as your library grows, certainly feel free to reach back out and we’ll take another look.
Until then, happy listening!

Hi @benjamin,
Thanks for your support and follow-up. I will keep listening and adding new artist to my playlists and see what happens in the next couple of months!
