I recently updated to arc 1.64 on my Google pixel pro 8 and the beta usb DAC driver no longer works.
On previous versions, I had to toggle beta driver off, let the music play, then toggle back on to enable me to listen in ‘enhanced’. Now it just stays in ‘high quality’ mode with all audio being resampled to 48khz.
Hi, all, an update here. We were able to identify the USB driver on Pixel devices. There will a fix for this issue in the upcoming EA release (should be live later today if everything goes according to the plan). When it’s live, could you please let us know if the issue is fixed for you?
In fact, it’s even better in my use case. I don’t know if it is the USB driver making the difference, or just general ARC enhancements, but I can now play 24 bit 705.6 kHz and 768 kHz files with ARC to my Mojo 2 when I’m on my home network. (All Muse settings are off when I tested this, including headroom management.)
Previously ARC would always struggle with these files. I’d be lucky if I could play one. I was just able to play three 24 bit 705/768 albums, back-to-back without issue. I even used Add Next to try to disrupt the flow without a hiccup. Pause and play, no issue. I realize these files are pushing the limits, but that’s part of the reason I have them. If I can play those, then everything else should be smooth sailing.
