Description Of Issue
Displays do not reflect that I have added album to library from Tidal. I see that it is doing it because when I add again it shows me the songs I have liked.
Happens on all remotes - Android phone / Tablet / other Windows computers.
Welcome to the forum and apologies regarding the delay in getting back to you here. Can I please ask that you share a few screenshots of the issue you are seeing? Thanks!
I have another ticket out for this issue. So you may want to combine them. I was not sure if I properly submitted before. So Playlist issue 1 shows what you see in a playlist. It is not indicating that the song is liked even though I had liked it. Playlist 2 shows what it looks like when you click on the album from the playlist song. It doesn’t show that I already added it to the library or that the song on that album is liked. Play list 3 shows what it looks like if I start from the artist then to the Album
Want to make sure that you understand I am talking about Tidal Songs.
I have rebooted several times over the past several weeks. I rebooted again. Did not resolve. I tried another experiment. I created a new playlist. Put in liked songs and albums. These work fine. When I add a Tidal Song / album it does not reflect in the playlist. It has been saved but is never reflected in play list.
I am having a hard time understanding where to find my support tickets. I am hoping this gets to you.
Thanks for reaching out and appreciate the screenshots!
In your first screenshot, I see that you have a playlist set up that contains content directly from TIDAL that is not part of your library (hence why there is no “heart” symbol).
This suggests that you have added the TIDAL link “directly” to the playlist, as the track is a reference to the TIDAL file directly.
For you to be able to favorite a track, it has to be part of your local library first and then you need to add that local library to your playlist. Hope my above explanation helped, and this article also provides some more context!
Thanks - That gives me some clarity. I assumed that once I added an album to Roon, the Tidal list would reflect that I had added the album and reflect the liked songs. Having the heart icon on Tidal lists makes you think you can edit. I understand that you want the heart there to represent that you have already “liked” the song.
The playlist 1 best songs 2020 was not the original playlist from Tidal. It is a playlist created in ROON. I added the Tidal playlist songs to the ROON list. Are you saying that a Tidal playlist song added to a ROON playlist cannot gain the ROON information? That the song can only be added to a playlist from the Album view of ROON?
The workflow that I want is to take a playlist from Tidal, listen to the playlist find songs that I want to “like” and have that playlist reflect that decision. I want to cull the list gradually to find songs I like. The problem is that the Tidal playlist never reflects this information.
So how do I create a list of songs that I liked from a Tidal Playlist?
I have been listening to Roon Radio. A song came up that I knew I had already added the album and liked the song. It was not indicated in this window. When I clicked on the Album the album view did not indicate that I had added the album. When I then added the album again the album view showed that I had already liked the song.
When you add tracks to your playlist directly from TIDAL, these are saved to the database as the “TIDAL Link” to the album. This is different than first adding the album to your library and then adding that album to a playlist.
This is because the tracks presented through Roon Radio refer to the TIDAL link of a track, not your “Library Link” to a track. All the tracks that Roon Radio presents will be out of your library. Hope this helps!
