Somehow I wound up with two copies of Dr. Dre’s 2001 in my favorites in Roon’s TIDAL section, one of which is undeletable. Clicking on the album leads to a blank screen with the text “This album was not found.” Removing the album from favorites via TIDAL app removes the working copy, but the “not found” copy remains in Roon.
I can see the ghost album in remote on Windows 10 and Android. Core running 64 bit on Windows 10. TIDAL HiFi in USA. Library synced manually and issue persists.
The ghost only shows up in Roon -> TIDAL -> Your Favorites. If I go to the artist, only one copy shows under albums.
Hi @farmbacker ----- Thank you for the follow up and sorry the issue has persisted. I would like to gather some logs from you so our developers can have a closer look into this issue and will be contacting you via PM with instructions shortly.
Just confirm, you’ve already tried re-booting your core machine, correct? Has your router been re-booted as well?
I’ve had several albums do this to me; most recently all of the BarlowGirl albums. They show as unavailable in Roon, but when I search for the albums in the Tidal app, they are available there. And if I go to My Music>Tracks in the Tidal app, the same tracks that are unavailable in Roon also show up as unavailable in my Tidal Tracks list. So I delete the “ghost” album in Roon (not sure why this option doesn’t work for you), and re-add the tracks to the Tidal My Music>Tracks list by clicking the Favorite star in the album’s tracks list in the Tidal app. Then I delete the “ghost” tracks from the Tidal app’s track list.
After all that is done, things return to normal in Roon.
My WAG is that Tidal loses/regains licensing for these albums, but the database pointers in Roon and Tidal still point to where the no-longer-licensed versions used to be.
I think my issue is a little different than what you are describing.
I see a duplicate image of the same TIDAL album (“2001” by Dr. Dre), but only in the “Your Favorites” section in Roon’s TIDAL section. In the TIDAL app, I only see one copy. In Roon, under the artist or album view (Roon’s Library), I only see one copy. Removing the copy from Roon’s Library has no effect on the duplicate seen in the TIDAL Favorites section of Roon.
To put it another way, the only place the “ghost” exists is in Roon’s TIDAL “Your Favorites” section. The only options when selecting an album there are “Add to Library” and “Add to a Playlist…”.
It’s really not that big of a deal, as there’s no real reason to browse albums in “Your Favorites” section in TIDAL from within Roon. And if it wasn’t “2001” (and therefore appearing on the first screen) I probably wouldn’t have noticed. That said it does present a very very minor annoyance to my Type A personality, and it would give me a very small amount of joy to get rid of the “ghost”.
I suppose this was really a bug report, more than anything.
I’m having this issue with 1.3 (RoonServer on iMac). I have favorited the MQA version of Eagles/Hotel California on Tidal. When I refresh in Roon I can see the album thumbnail in Favorites, but when I click on it, I get “This album was not found.”
I’ve tried multiple deletes/adds/refreshes and have deleted the Cache file for RoonServer & Roon, but no luck.
I was recently able to sort this out on the Tidal side - a new mobile app update revealed the duplicate so I could delete it from there. Clearly a Tidal error, not a Roon bug.
