Describe the issue

I have my Roon Core on an Intel NUC using Rock. I login to Roon app on either my Iphone app or Macbook app. On both devices I am currently not logged into Tidal. Through the 'Services' tidal login I get redirected to web browser and successfully get message that my Roon and Tidal account are linked but on returning to Roon app I get message that it has failed to connect and there was an error authorizing with Tidal and try again, which just takes me round an endless issue loop.

Hello @Jonathon_Lawrence

Thank you for reaching Roon support. Would you kindly try to clear the streaming cache and try logging in again?

  • Stop Roon Server from running in the Web UI
  • Find and open your RoonServer database
  • Navigate to RoonServer/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon Server via the WebUI and verify if the issue still occurs

Hi @Jonathon_Lawrence,

Please also ensure that you’ve added Roon background processes to the list of firewall and anti-virus exceptions.

Additionally, we recommend ensuring a reliable DNS service has been assigned in the router, since ISP defaults will often fail to resolve the URLs associated with Tidal’s API in time.

This should be under the “Advanced” settings tab or similar on the Tenda router. We recommend assigning Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) as the primary DNS server.

@connor Thanks - Firewall settings appeared to be cause of my issue.
