I agreed to let Roon import Tidal genre classics but changed my mind.
It wasn’t practical to have 600 favorites.
I deleted all the imported albums using their tags and the edit/delete button.
The albums are removed from the album collection but they are still in my Tidal favorites.
Shouldn’t they have been removed from there?
Did you let Roon sync with Tidal?
It may take a little while, or you can force it. Settings > Services > edit > sync now.

Ok, I just tested this and there seems to be a problem.
@mike, it looks as though when you delete a Tidal album a sync with Tidal occurs immediately, but checking the album in Tidal shows that it is still “starred”. Same result when you force a sync.
Are we doing something wrong?
Cheers, agree
I forced the sync but it didn’t help so now I’ve started to manually deleting them in the Tidal app.
The strange thing is that when I use my Aries - Lightning DS app everything looks ok.
It’s a bit of a mess.
Thanks anyway for the tip.
I’m very new to Roon and need all the help I can get…
/Dan
I would wait to hear from Mike before deleting them.
It could be an issue that they can solve.
Cheers, Greg
Yes, that sounds like a good idea.
Thanks, Dan
Hey @Darock – sorry for the trouble here. I just tested this on my end and, while I’m only deleting 1 album at a time, the sync is instantaneous for me. When I delete in Roon, and refresh TIDAL in my web browser, the albums disappear.
So, something is different on your end, and we need to figure out what that is.
Can you tell me exactly how you’re deleting the albums? Have you tried restarting Roon? Where are you confirming the TIDAL favorites? Any chance you’re quitting Roon while the deletes are still being communicated to TIDAL?
Hi @mike, sorry to butt in, but I did some experimenting.
I tried deleting a Tidal album and then checked Tidal using their iPad app. It still shows as a favourite, I even closed and reopened the app. It still shows as a favourite. I also tried to reboot the iPad and log out of Tidal too.
I then tried again with another album and checked on Tidal via Safari. It was no longer a favourite. However, If I go into the Tidal iPad app, it still shows as a favourite.
Seems to be a Tidal iOS app issue.
Cheers, Greg
Hi, I marked and deleted 500 Tidal albums using Edit/Delete.
I may have closed the Roon app, but not the server, during the sync with Tidal.
They all disappeared from the album collection but still remain as favorites, both in Roon and the Tidal app.
In the Tidal app the albums are shown but it’s impossible to play or show the content.
I also use Aries and it’s the same story in the Lightning DS app for iPad.
In the Lightning DS on iPhone everything looks ok,
Hi Dan,
I’m curious about this:
“In the Tidal app the albums are shown but it’s impossible to play or show the content”
This shouldn’t happen whether an album is favourited or not.
A couple of things. Could you log into Tidal using a web browser and see if the deleted albums from Roon show as favourites? And what Tidal app do you use, iOS or Android?
Cheers, Greg
Hi Greg,
The Tidal app actually says “network problem…” when I try to open those albums.
This is only the case for all the deleted favorites, no other albums.
I’ve tried both the IOS app and the browser version, same result.
I think something got messed up in Tidals metadata for these albums when I deleted all the 500 albums.
Apparently every app handles this differently, and only the iPhone Lightning DS seems to work.
I swallowed the bitter pill and deleted them manually so now it’s ok.
Cheers, Dan
