Describe the issue

Dear Support Team,

Unfortunately, I am once again experiencing issues with syncing my Tidal favorites with Roon. As mentioned previously, the problem appeared to be resolved after disabling AVG antivirus. However, after a few days, Roon stopped syncing my Tidal favorites again.

I have already added all the exceptions to the Windows 10 firewall as per your suggestion, but the issue persists.

Could you please assist me in resolving this?

Thank you for your support.
Best regards

Hi @Mattia_Amendolagine,

Thank you for posting.

For due diligence, please verify that an automatic update hasn’t re-enabled third-party antivirus software that interferes with RoonServer. Our attempts so far to reach your server for diagnostic logs have failed, which previously occurred when AVG was blocking the connection.

Diagnostic logs might illuminate the cause of the problem. At your convenience, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.

If you have access to your router settings, I recommend finding the DNS section and verifying that a reliable DNS server is assigned. We usually recommend Cloudflare (1.1.1.1).

Hi,

yes I verifyed the antivirus is still disabled. I send you the log folders from roon, roonserver, raatserver and roongoer using your File Uploader.
Maybe you can’t reach my server because it was shut down? Anyway now it’s on.

Thanks for you support. Waiting for your answer.

Regards,
Mattia

Hey @Mattia_Amendolagine,

Can you please also temporarily test disabling your windows firewall and seeing if your issue persists? I’d perform a manual sync via your services settings in Roon. Or a fresh reboot of the machine. :+1:

Thanks!

I disabiled all kind of firewall. The issue persists. I rebooted the machine also, but nothing changed.

Thanks for trying that. We can see that you when you try to get your Tidal favorites you are getting a 304 response which means the server thinks there have been no changes since the last request. Can you try adding a new favorite through the Tidal app and then trigger a manual sync with Tidal in Roon and let us know what happens?

Yes of course. I’ve done now, but nothing changed

Hey @Mattia_Amendolagine,

Could you please update your Roon devices and see if your issues persist?

I’ve done it yesterday. It addedd some new album from my Tidal favourite but not all.

Hey @Mattia_Amendolagine,

Thanks for the update! Were you ever able to test out updating your DNS server?

This may very well help you. :+1:

I have Sky internet connection, and it seems I can’t change DNS.
Anyway I have had a Sky internet connection for 4 years and until a few months ago Roon was working perfectly, so I thonk the problem is something else.
Do you think it could be useful re-installing Roon?

Hi @Mattia_Amendolagine,
If your router will not let you change your DNS then you can do it on Windows. How to change DNS settings on your PC running Windows 10 | Windows Central

Hi, ok, I’ve done and setted 1.1.1.1 ad you suggest, but unfortunately nothing changed in Roon

Hi @Mattia_Amendolagine,

Network diagnostic log traces from RoonServer don’t indicate that it’s failing to reach Tidal upstream.

Content can take up to 24 hours to sync sometimes with Tidal’s API. Has all of the content synced with your Roon and Tidal libraries at this point? If there’s just a lag time, but content eventually syncs, then you’re possibly experiencing expected delays.

Please list the name of an album or track that has so far failed to sync in Roon. Our team will take another look at diagnostic logging.

I have the same problem. I run roon on windows11.

@BOYEON_HWANG - the best course of action is always to open your own Support request and describe your setup in detail if you want help.

You may have a similar symptom, but not necessarily the same cause as the original poster - your system setup may be different, that’s why the general rule is to always first open your own request. Let the Support team merge threads if they find common causes.

Note, this Support link is clickable and will take you to the correct place to create your request by clicking on the “Get Help” button.

I posted here my Tidal favorites vs Roon favorites. As you can see they are quite different. Roon sinc only very few albums. In some cases weeks have passed but the albums have not been synchronized

Hi @Mattia_Amendolagine,

To clarify, you’ve sorted within both Tidal and Roon by Date Added in the screenshot above?

The top album listed in the first screenshot, What A Wonderful World by Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio - does not populate at all as a library item in any browser page within Roon? Please search for this album within Roon and click on the Tidal result under the Album results. Click on this object to enter the Album page for the Tidal version of the album. Share a screenshot of that page at your convenience here.

We can see certain possible failures in diagnostics but need a more complete picture of how the symptom is presenting. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Connor,

yes, Roon and Tidal are both sorted by date.
Ad you can see in the last post there are many album not synced, not only the last one. On the other way, the Rosalia album, that I removed from Tidal, still appear in Roon.

Here are the pics you asked for:

Mattia

Hi @Mattia_Amendolagine,

Thank you for sharing this additional information. We’ll sync internally and respond more conclusively as soon as possible.

Please restart RoonServer once more in the meantime. Tidal data has synced with our servers recently - please let us know if anything changes.
