Was it $1.99 for 4 months or $1.99 per month for 4 months? I thought the former but it wasn’t clear to me.
My Paypal receipt says 120 days. So yes 4 months. 50c a month!

Yes, I had the same offer too (I’m in UK). Guess they’re finding the market hard going with Qobuz and now Amazon Music HD.

Tidal has done these sorts of promotions before. We’ll only know they’re feeling the Amazon and Quboz pinch if Tidal lowers their hifi subscription fees as well. Which I’m hoping for
