Tidal keeps breaking on me

every once in a while, i need to restart the RoonServer (running on linux) to restore Tidal service.

It almost seems like this happens in connection to my mobile device also playing using the same account, which happens from time to time.

However, from the logs I see the following:

11/11 10:02:51 Warn: Error in web request https://metadata5.roonlabs.com/md/4/tidal/favorite/tracks?uid=9e359617-2bef-426c-b777-018035951289&lid=&token=8a4ba7c9-89b1-4162-ad1f-86d363fbc7f1&userid=37202854&collection=tidal-nl&sessionid=133df9a4-93c2-450f-9cbc-0eb092d6baae&offset=0&count=30: NetworkError (Aborted.)

when I try to wget this url, i get an error 500

what can I do to solve this other than rebooting my machine?

Hi @aart_de_boer ----- Thank you for the report and my apologies for the troubles here.

Moving forward, can you please provide/confirm the following information for me.

  1. A brief but accurate description of your current setup as seen here.

  2. Are you able to connect to TIDAL successfully via a web browser or from another device on the same network Roon is running on?

-Eric

Hi @Eric,

No problem.

what version of Roon you are running
Currently 1.2, build 161, but the issue has arisen before on older builds
What operating system you are running
CentOS 7
Basic information about the device you’re using
Virtual machine, conforming to minimal spec.
Describe where your music is stored – this includes hard drive description and interface type
Synology, over smb
Let us know your collection size (approximate number of tracks)
10k

The router is a frtizbox 7490, connected too synchronous 100mbit fiber. I run wifi to a logitech sb3, logitech transporter and a raspberry 3 with dion audio loco dac/amp, the latter running roonbridge on jessie lite (roonbridge 1.0?) Connectivity through ethernet and wifi.

I control the music through a variety of wifi devices, both android and ios. These run roon 1.2

Symptoms include a long waiting time trying to get content from tidal, and no tidal tracks are played. Local flac plays fine, local mp3 is no issue. Just any streaming from tidal fails.

The only thing i can do to make it work again is reboot my virtual machine :s

Cheers,
Aart

Oh. And yes, tidal is available on the other devices, and also when i switch to the tidal integration on the squeezeboxen through the squeezebox server vm i have kept but switched off normally.

I’m having the same problem with my RPI roon bridge. Tidal keeps dropping out during playback. Did not have this issue until recently.
