Describe the issue
error message tidal loading slowly. i have removed and reinstalled roon and tidal and restarted my mac desktop core multiple times. roon was working perfectly for years before problem
Thanks for writing in! Sorry to hear you’re having playback issues with Tidal.
If you use the Tidal app directly, or the web player, do you run into any playback issues?
It’s definitely worth noting the age of your machine running Roon Server, especially if your hosting ~50k tracks on the machine.
How is the mac connected to your primary router? Can you set up a hardwire ethernet connection, and see if your run into issues playing from the system output of the Mac itself?
Lastly, we’re not able to enable diagnostics on the Mac to review any additional information, could you please reproduce the issue and share the name of track attempted to play? After that, please use the directions found here and send over a set of Roon Server logs to our File Uploader?
problem began after roon stopped last week with message that roon closed unexpectedly and I sent a report to roon. Tidal works directly. Can’t imagine my core suddenly has an issue. I wonder if there is a roon software issue, as with most recent IOS update, the volume controls are now sliding right to left rather than the other direction. Thanks

We were able to review a fresh Roon Server diagnostic report and see playback errors relating to the server-side buffer, which has become full and cannot handle more incoming data.
The root cause may be related to insufficient buffer management that prevented data from being transmitted and processed quickly enough. This then led to disconnects, causing interruptions in playback.
This could happen if the streaming device or the network link is unable to handle the data flow at higher bitrates, if you attempt to play a lower-quality track, do you experience the same issue?
Ultimately it appears to be network-related, so I would setup a hardwire ethernet connection if you haven’t yet, and see about simplifying your overall network ecosystem - even just temporarily for testing purposes.
