Tidal login fails and leeds to endless loop for Tidal login

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Nucleus +
Version 1.0 (build 227) stable

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

WiFi from MacBook / iPad to DLINK
Via DLINK to the FritzBox
Via DLINK from the FritzBox to the Nucleus+

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

iOS and Macbook clients. Tidal login problem happens regardless of client.

Description Of Issue

When I start the Roon App I requested to login at TIDAL “Login”, I get bounced into a browser at “login.tidal.com” that shows my own account correctly.
When I do the login a pop-up appears asking me “Open this page in “Roon”?” and when I click Open I’m bounced back into the Roon app.
At first it seems as if the login has been processed fine.
But the problem is that that takes me back to a “You aren’t currently signed into TIDAL” screen, and from there it is an endless loop of doing the above cycle over and over again.
Even if I do not confirm the shown account the same happens.
When I go to the settings TIDAL is listed as “Not configured” with a “Login” button that causes essentially the same cycle as above.

Using the Tidal homepage for login is working fine.
Problem is only in context with login via Roon.

Everything worked fine for weeks/months before, I noticed the problem just now.
Restart of the nucleus+ and macbook didn’t help.

I can log directly into TIDAL and play songs outside of Roon without problems.

It would be great if you could help me in this - to enable me playing Tidal songs again.

Thanks a lot in advanc for any help.

Dear Roon support,

the problem exists furthermore, I could not solve it by myself.
The problem came up with the update to build 667 some days ago.

Additionally the roon app shows the message
“Es ist ein Fehler bei der Update-Anfrage aufgetreten”
= “An error happened at request for update”

Power-Off/On of all involved devices (nucleus+, macbook, ipdad) didn’t help.

Can you please help me ?

Best regards
Sonja

Hello @Sonja_Steffens, do you see this behavior on all remotes? Any luck if you change your default browser?

Hello nuwriy,
the same behaviour on both remotes devices (macbook and iPad).
Using firefox (instead of safari) didn’t help.

curious is additionally this message in the roon app:

“Es ist ein Fehler bei der Update-Anfrage aufgetreten”
= “An error happened at request for update”

This message is new (since update to build 667 ?)

My Fritzbox tells me that the Nucleus is in the network but not connected to the internet.

But I do not have any idea to solve this, restarting of all components (dlink,…) didn’t help

I’m happy to tell you:
the following activities had been successful in exactly this sequence:

  1. Power Off Nucleus
  2. Power Off DLINK (to which the nucleus is connected)
  3. Power On Nucleus (without DLINK)
  4. Power On DLINK

I did nearly the same before in other sequence and with unplugging of LAN-cables (without power off) without success.

It seemed to be a network-issue between Nucleus and DLINK.

Now it works - and my weekend begins :slightly_smiling_face:
