Tidal Mac/iOS app sample rate?

Using the TIDAL app on my Mac and an MQA decoding DAC, I get the blue Studio light when appropriate. But blue doesn’t equal sample rate. Is it a 24/48 Studio file? 24/96? 24/192?

Roon is brilliant at showing bit depth/sample rate for TIDAL MQA tracks. The TIDAL app itself not so much. I can get the info directly from one of my DACs, but not the other one (that I use most).

I have looked and looked, but I can’t find anywhere in the TIDAL app where the sample rate info is shown. Does anyone know if that information is available and I’ve just missed it? Or am I limited to “HiFi” and “Master” inside the app?

Hi Jeff,

No, the MQA light (blue or green) is no indicative of sample rate. More on the “lights” here if you’re interested.

The second no is with regards to finding sample rates shown in TIDAL’s app. No such thing

You’re very welcome

If you want sample rates shown in native apps, Qobuz and Apple do this.
