Tidal MQA decoding in native mobile app

If I play Tidal MQA through Roon I can see from the signal chain Roon does the decoding i.e. 24/48 -> 24/96. If I play the same file through the native Tidal app on my smartphone I see the output is also 24/96 thanks to the sample rate indicator on my Mojo. Presumably here the Tidal app on my phone is doing the first unfold or is it being streamed directly at the first unfolded 24/96 sample rate?

Just something I’m curious about.

It will be unfolded in the app. Doing so at source would negate one of the benefits of MQA, namely bandwidth reduction.
