Have noticed a small Tidal issue!
Since mid November Tidal doesn’t count streams made by Roon. This has worked earlier and is quite important to get new release suggestions on Tidal.
Don’t know if this is a Tidal or Roon problem.
That’s really strange.
I’m a new user with Roon (maybe 6 weeks now) and since then I haven’t really opened Tidal to look!
Forgive me, I don’t know how to look at what exactly has streamed in Tidal but I can tell that it’s been looking at my Roon activity simply because of the playlists it’s put together are based on what I’ve been doing here.
I know it’s not helpful me saying ‘it doesn’t seem to be doing that for me’ but I suppose it shows this isn’t normal for everyone at least - I hope you find the answer here.
Where are you looking in Tidal to determine this. The recently played section is purely for plays via Tidals apps and not API. It tends to feed into the other areas when I used it such as you listened to this sections.
The recently played section of Tidal and the monthly wrap ups of streaming metrics are generated via listening through the Tidal apps only, listening via Roon or elsewhere does not contribute to that data.
It may reflect in the recommendations, I’m not sure.
It does. There are other areas it shows as well.
The monthly wrap ups have included streams using Roon earlier.
But from mid November or early December it doesn’t anymore.
That’s what I’m talking about!
I read your post, but for me, anything listened to outside of the Tidal app, whether in Roon or LMS has not reflected in the Tidal metrics.
The Tidal app always reports way fewer streams than I know I’ve made.
YMMV.
Yes, I noticed that too.
Kind of strange. Wonder if it affects royalties paid to artists?
Same issue here - in Tidal app my top artist are just a few streams (since December) likely just counting the few times I have played through the Tidal app.
50% of my listens on Roon is from Tidal.
Very strange - hope they fix soon
Before December the streams are counting Roon Tidal plays
Same here.
Today I started a Tidal stream on Roon and simultaneously on the Tidal ipad app.
They both played parallel until the track in Roon ended an switched to the next one. Then suddenly the Tidal ipad app stopped and a message popped up saying a stream is played in Roon. So there must be a connection between Tidal and Roon streams.
