Tidal not working since their network issues [Solved - Changed DNS in Router]

I understand Tidal had network issues yesterday and were down in certain areas. They claim the servers are back up & running and I can log in and play a track with the Tidal app (Desktop or Mobile) but Roon gives errors stating the tracks are unavailable.

Hello @Mike_Ormerod,

Thanks for contacting support, I’d be happy to take a look over this issue with you. Can you please let me know more information regarding your setup using this thread as a guide?

Generally speaking, when you experience issues with playing TIDAL content, it is a good toubleshooting step to clear the TIDAL cache. To do so please follow these instructions:

  1. Shutdown your Roon App

  2. Find and open your Roon database

  3. Navigate to /Library/Roon/Cache

  4. Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop

  5. Try restarting Roon and syncing Tidal in Roon Settings -> Services -> Edit Button next to TIDAL -> Sync Library Now.

Please let me know if these instructions work and if you are still experiencing issues please let me know your setup details as per the thread linked above.

Thanks,
Noris

Hi @noris

My Roon Core runs on a QNAP server. I’ve moved the cache, restarted both the Core and my client (macOS), did the sync and while the Tidal content shows, Roon simply skips the tracks and doesn’t play. I get the same behavior with the iOS client.

The tidal app on both clients (Mac & iOS) work just fine.

I’ve noticed I’m also getting an error messages “Too many Transport failures”.

Looking at the roon server log I assume these may have something to do with the problem:

My own local content plays just fine.

OK, after much back & forth I think I found the issue. My internet provider somehow started blocking sites! So I’ve changed DNS to CloudFlare and it seems to be working again!

Hello @Mike_Ormerod,

Glad to hear that the issue has been resolved by changing the DNS! That would have been my next troubleshooting step here but happy that you have been able to resolve this issue

Thanks again for contacting support and if you run into any other issues, don’t hesitate to let us know!
