Playlist was initially created in Tidal app. In Roon it shows up. Weirdness in syncing, added 5 or so songs in Roon and the Roon app said it was syncing to Tidal but did not. Added songs again, no luck. Added again and they were now duplicated (easy to remove). Tried to rename the playlist multiple times, once on Tidal and multiple times on Roon. Everytime the playlist reverts to the original name.
This problem was reported here but support ticket closed for other user.
EDIT1: this was all happening around 7-7:30 PM EST. I just tried an additional time and the rename is seeming to stick this time.
EDIT2: I added a song. Roon says “Syncing Playlist to TIDAL”. Song does not get added. Try 2 more times. Song shows up and Playlist title reverts (undoing EDIT1 above) (7:40 pm)
Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs
I’d also disable any extensions you currently have active during our troubleshooting, if possible. Thank you!
If the above doesn’t help, it may be worth testing different DNS servers tied to the Mac - we have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?
I think at some point Tidal had a beta that allowed AI generated playlists. The playlist that is not renaming has a little sparkle graphic that indicates it was made with their AI. As far as i can tell, the beta and that feature are gone!
Can you share a few screenshots of the behavior on your end (that also show the playlist name)? We can try to see if there are any specific errors in your logging at that timestamp.
My apologies @RobOK, if you create a copy of this playlist within Tidal (Not connected by AI at this point) and attempt a sync + playlist name update in Roon, does the same issue occur?
We’re not seeing any obvious errors from Roon Server logs, however, we see a repeating process of the changes being made and updated successfully, to then repeat the process. I’ll be curious to see if the copy runs into the same issue.
Thanks @Benjamin – this seems like a weird edge case, probably not worth the time if it does not fix any broader problem on your end. You can close this.
