Tidal streaming problems - data flow

Hi
I am experiencing streaming problems with tidal hifi service.
At the moment I am using a window 7 computer as my core (plus output), another windows 7 as roon bridge connected to Weiss 202 dac via Firewire.
And my music is stored on central NAS.

To isolate the problem with tidal I would like to test the tidal on the stand alone application and on roon

Should I test the stand alone tidal on the core computer or on the bridge?

Should I assume that the flow of tidal is from the internet to the core and from the core to the bridge?

Thx
Eli

  1. On the Core computer, would enable you to test to local output.
  2. On the Bridge computer, would enable you to test to your DAC.

Providing playing local files is fine, I think I’d go option #1.

[/quote]Your assumption is correct, in Roon all audio is routed via the Roon Core.

Thank you.
Tidal technical support suggested that I have a network issue with the dns configuration. I set the dns to google dns and I hope/trust that I solved the problem.
Thx
Eli

Hi @Eli_Levi,

Thanks for the feedback, fingers crossed you’ll have no more trouble now.

Unrelated to Roon matters, I’ve also heard that switching to Goggle’s DNS has helped as not all DNS providers are equal.
