Description of Issue

I rebooted my computer started Roon at 16:15, 16:16 hit Play on Ben Harper’s latest album on Tidal at 16:21 the music randomly stopped. I closed Roon and this the uploaded log.

Log:

Note1: I have caffeinate -d running in a shell and I have tried Amphetamine with the same result.
Note2: I had a 9 year mac mini on the same network, same everything and things worked but I wanted to update to the latest mac hardware and now Roon does not even play a full album :frowning:

Thanks! Brian

I am now also seeing these pop up BUT right after I can hit play and they go away. It also smells like the core is going to sleep? But again I am running Amphetamine and my network results are below.

The Tidal login has failed , which means when your Core started the internet connection wasn’t connected yet

If you click Retry all should be well

It happens a lot to me as my NUC is on AutoRestart on power Restore, BUT the network takes longer to start up than the NUC hence the error

This is also happening with local FLACs. I am still getting ‘Waiting for your Roon Core’ but the computer is freshly rebooted and I DISCONNECTED TIDAL!

See video of this happening start a clean FLAC local album at time 3 seconds and 2:52 seconds in this video. Then I show all my settings.

Thanks!
Brian

Your internet dowload speed is likely irrelevant

How are the RPi connected to the network , this looks like a Network error . you say hardwire is that all Pi’s ? The Core to endpoint passes a lot of data

Are you using an extender and then a hardwire to the Pi ?

I used this SH!T little switch under my desk and swapped with a Netgear and now everything is fine!

Please do NOT use this switch below - it can download gigs of data via TCP but Roon does not like for streaming audio. Maybe a UDP issue?

DO NOT USE REALTEK RTL8367N or TRENDnet TEG-S50g this cost me hours of debug!
