Thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide some more information on the TIDAL sync issue? Is TIDAL not working at all, or are just some albums not appearing? If you try to log out and back into TIDAL via Roon Settings → Services, does that help? You can also try to clear the TIDAL cache by using these instructions:
Only 150 tracks appearing out of a 570-track playlist.
Log out and in: no difference.
Can’t access Nucleus Folder: ‘dial tcp 192.168.0.105:80: connectex: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.’
Rebooted Nucleus One: no difference.
I notice that another user is having the same problem.
Thanks for the update, and I’m sorry to hear you’re still having issues on one of your Tidal playlists.
From a fresh diagnostic report, we can see specifically that the playlist “Pop 1” is the affected playlist. Roon Server is downloading it fully, paginating through all tracks in batches of 50, from offset 0 all the way to offset 800 (covering 850+ tracks) and every single page returns HTTP 200. So the full playlist content is reaching Roon Server from TIDAL’s API.
The real problem is in the matching stage. After fetching the full playlist, Roon Server logs this:
syncing playlist Pop 1 from My Tidal Library with 831 items
fetching 818 missing tracks (total 831 if we include duplicates)
No tracks matched to library
818 out of 831 tracks are “missing” meaning Roon Server cannot resolve them against its internal library. This is a metadata matching failure, not a sync/download failure. The tracks are in the playlist data from TIDAL; Roon just can’t identify them in its local database.
There is also a persistent “Classical 2” playlist with the same pattern: 556 items, but 544 “missing.” This confirms the issue affects multiple playlists.
Here are some next areas to investigate:
Disable the Duck VPN temporarily and then force a re-sync of the TIDAL library (Settings → Services → TIDAL → Edit → force sign out and back in, or use the "Sync Library Now" option). Let me know if this helps.
Check the Deco extender connection. The Nucleus should ideally be on a wired connection, or at minimum on the same network segment as the Sky router, not relying on a Deco mesh hop, as this can cause intermittent dropouts that break long-running sync operations.
Thanks, Benjamin. As far as I can see, all the Pop playlists are syncing ok. The issue was with the Classical playlist: this was synced from Spotify via Soundiiz, and I identified that the reason it wasn’t showing any tracks was that some were unavailable on Tidal, which seemed to have derailed the whole list. I deleted the unsyncable tracks on Spotify, created a new playlist, Classical 2’, and hey presto, it has synced perfectly. Except for one issue: tracks that I have deleted are re-appearing.
As for the rest of the system: I bought a Nucleus One, as you can see, which is Ethernet-wired to the router or the Deco, can’t remember which. But now the system is more stable than it has ever been. I think the SkyQ router just wasn’t built for multi-cast, and now I’m linking all the endpoints to the Deco, it’s great! It does stop playing occasionally, but I can live with that.
Thanks for the update, and it is good to hear the system is more stable now. Since the issue is that tracks you deleted are reappearing, can you share some screenshots of the tracks that are coming back after deletion?
Here is one track that I have deleted several times from my Tidal Classical2 playlist. I have just double-checked, and this version is simply not there. Tidal on Roon has substituted a piano version for an orchestral one. If Tidal on Roon can’t find the same version, I would rather not have a substitute.
Thanks for the screenshot - that’s really helpful.
After looking at your Jun 16 diagnostics I can see what’s happening. Roon runs a set of “playlist improvers” on your Classical 2 playlist each time it detects a sync change. One of these, called UpgradeQuality, automatically swaps tracks for higher-quality versions available on TIDAL. On 14 Jun at 08:06 it accepted 36 such upgrades for Classical 2 – the Pio Palumbo piano version of Clair de lune was almost certainly one of those swaps, because it’s available on TIDAL in a higher-quality format than the orchestral arrangement (John Rutter/Manchester Camerata) you originally had.
This is also why the deletion doesn’t stick: when you remove the track in Roon, the delete may not be fully propagating back to the TIDAL copy of the playlist, so on the next resync the Pio Palumbo version is still there on TIDAL’s side and comes back.
Here are the steps most likely to fix this:
Delete the Pio Palumbo track directly in the native TIDAL app (not via Roon), confirm it's gone there, and after the next playlist improver iteration, it should be gone.
Re-add the specific orchestral version you want (Manchester Camerata / John Rutter) by finding it in TIDAL's own search and adding it to the Classical 2 playlist in the TIDAL app.
Let us know if deleting via the native TIDAL app resolves the reappearance issue.
Just checking in on this. Were you able to try deleting the Pio Palumbo version directly in the native TIDAL app and confirm it stays gone there, then re-add the Manchester Camerata, John Rutter version from TIDAL’s own search? If the track is removed on TIDAL’s side, the next playlist sync should stop bringing it back. Let us know what you see, thanks!
We have not heard back from you, so we will go ahead and close this thread due to inactivity. If you need further assistance, please submit a reopen support request via the technical support help form link and specify that the issue be reopened. Thank you.
