· Tracks available on Tidal Apps not playing in Roon.
Error message: "This track is currently not available on Tidal"
However the tracks can be played perfectly in Tidal android app.
When clicking on "Go to Album" on unavailable track -> "This album was not found" - Albums appear on Tidal app and Roon search. Some albums are also not available in Roon at all but are on Tidal app. Restarted Roon Core and have the same issue.
Thanks for the report — and sorry to hear you’re running into this.
As a next step, we’d like to rule out any stale or corrupted cache data that can sometimes cause streaming availability mismatches between Roon and TIDAL.
Move all contents of the Cache folder to another location (for example, your desktop)
4.(do not delete the database itself)*
Restart Roon Server
Start Roon Server again from the Web UI
Once it’s fully up, test playback of the affected TIDAL tracks
After restarting, please let us know whether the issue persists and, if so, provide a couple of example albums or tracks that still show as unavailable in Roon.
If you haven’t already tried the cache clear in the post above, at least try restarting your RoonServer in the meantime.
We’ve escalated this report to the team to understand the root cause, but the cache clear/restart will resolve the symptom for you and (assuming this track is still in the Tidal catalog) restore the track’s availability in Roon.
Hi @connor, cleared the cache & restarted the server. It did not solve the issue.
The tracks are still unplayable in the current queue. However, when I search for the track/album, they appear and when the “new” version is queued it plays.
It seems to me that either Tidal updated/reuploaded the album or something changed in the backend.
If Tidal change their version eg a HR version, a newer download from the owner etc then that path will change . It’s quite common especially as Tidal are still replacing their MQA stock.
Roon does not keep up with those changes you must spot them and manually “un-favourite” and “re-favourite” (if such words exist in the King’s English) to store the new path
Roon stores a reference to the specific TIDAL track version. When TIDAL updates or replaces that version, the old reference can become unavailable, which is why previously queued or favorited tracks may show as unavailable while newly searched versions play correctly.
In this case, Mike’s recommendation is correct:
Remove the affected tracks or albums from your favorites/library
Then re-add (favorite) them again to refresh the TIDAL reference
Additionally, in some cases it can help to use Roon’s Playlist Improver, which can detect unavailable streaming tracks and suggest updated replacements:
This should resolve the issue for most affected content.
Thanks again for your patience — let us know if you need further help.
