Time to time some songs are not being played on Mac Mini M1

Hi,

I have 2 setups for HQPlayer which are Windows and Mac base. Windows setup works flawlessly and I didn’t catch any issue, however, I have lots of problems with the M1 one. Mostly I see not playing issue with the local songs. Hope someone can help me, because it’s a really disturbing situation, can’t listen to music continuously.

Here my setup and logs file from the machine.

IPad (Roon Control) → Mac Mini 2014(Roon Server) → (switch) → Mac Mini M1 → Ayre DSD Dac → Hegel

As I see there’s an error on the logs that says “requested filter not possible with this rate combination”, the configuration is Sinc-Mx and the target is DSD64

HQPlayer and Roon have the latest versions

I have a very similar setup, and I get this “…playback stopped” quite often. Only happens when I “manually” change song or skip in the progress bar. Have sent log to Jussi, but no solution. Only thing to do is to restart HQPlayer. Starting to get really annoying, actually. Was hoping for a 4.12 fix, but no.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem, if I manually change the song. Today I had to restart the app multiple times, my hope was the same, and because of that I immediately installed the new version but no luck :frowning:.

However, I haven’t seen any problem with Windows. I hope that Jussi is able to solve the problem soon.

Same problem for me, with pcm 24/192 poly-sinc-gauss and ns9.

I have a mac mini m1 and an intel macbook and both versions have the problem, it happens since 4.11, with 4.10.3 everything was fine.

In order to fix something I need to be able to reproduce the problem. But so far six+ hours of continuous hammering has not been enough to cause problems…

Here you are asking unsupported combination of filter and output rate.

It fails to load Oversampling: Gaussian poly
(but it happens with other filters as well)

Hi Jussi,

I tried to erase and totally reinstall my mac mini, thinking it could helps, but no, still have errors.

My setup is roon + hqplayer on the same mac + i’m using qobuz and local files at the same time.

Errors are almost raised at song startup (resource unavailable), especially if I change manualy playing or with roon radio (when it chooses automatically a song for me).

I put a support email with my log earlier this week.

Again, before 4.11 I never issued theses errors.

Exactly my problem as well. I have tried every conceivable combination of settings, but nothing helps. Jussi is going to write some special hack for me to try, so I put my hope in that.
