Tired of losing audio endpoint

I’m so tired of loosing audio endpoint, reboot or restart server every day. Please make Roon stable before you start adding more “ fancy “ content to the system. Roon is the only part of my system that keeps getting updates and it’s not working well anymore.
I just want to enjoy my music collection.

Are you using MacOS 15.1? This OS update has been known to cause issues with Roon endpoint discovery:

No, I’m using ROCK on NUC

OK. With all the Mac OS 15 related issue on the forum of late it was worth asking the question.

Are all of your devices on the same subnet? Roon does not support multiple subnets.

Do you use managed switches on your network? The official guidance (Networking Best Practices) advocates a preference for unmanaged switches.

If you do use managed switches, they must be configured to allow multicast in general and IGMP packets in particular to propagate. Multicast IGMP packets are used for device discovery. The same applies to your router. If it filters IGMP packets, that can interfere with Roons operation.

Thx for helping out. I’m using a TP- Link switch, TL-SG1008P, and only the ports without PoE. As a router I have Linksys WHW03v2 mesh. My modem is Zyxel in bridge mode.

You mention ‘mesh’. Do you have more than one Linksys device? If so, with the Zyxel modem in bridge mode, one and only one of your Linksys devices should be configured as a router and the primary mesh node. Any remaining Linksys devices should be configured as a mesh satellite node (ie access point only).

If you can confirm that all of your devices have ip addresses on the same subnet, it would help.

So now I have reset the node that was not hardwired to my modem. It’s now a child node, only getting WiFi signal from the Mother node. Let’s see how this works. Can I do anything else?
Thx again

My NUC and Meridian 218, are hardwired to the same switch and they have ip adresses, reserved, on the same subnet

If you want more “control” over when the updates happen you could change the settings to ask you before installing?
In settings\about click the gear next to your Rock:

I have mine set to install bugfixes and minor updates so it lets me decide when major updates are installed. YMMV and all that.

I have mine set to “Ask before downloading any updates.”

EDIT: But, I do install all updates. I’m on Early Access.

Mine is set to ask and I download all the updates. I live in a world where I hope the newest update will fix everything🤞. Someday I might be lucky and my music enjoyment is just working.

I have the same issue. I lost all of my end points and was trying everything – rebooting Roon, etc. Eventually I realized I had to reboot the Mac Mini (with Sequoia 15.1.1).

I was almost to the point of cancelling Roon.

It shouldn’t be this painful though, I don’t lose endpoints with LMS and don’t have to go through a ritual of rebooting my network.

LMS? Where is that coming in?

Lyrion (formerly Logitech) Media Server, I don’t see disappearing endpoints nor have the need to ever reboot the house to keep it running. Same with Plex server. They just work.

I see!
As an early Sooloos adapter and a Roon for life user, since day one, I hope that will be the case for Roon as well. Magic is going to happen.

Right ok, fingers crossed then

Hi there, just a thought - Hope your Mac mini is a dedicated Roon Server which is running on Ethernet, which is the best and most preferable choice. Make sure you have switched OFF WiFi on the MacMini. Put the IPv6 configuration to Only link-local. This was the solution for me, thanks to the Roon guys and girls.

Thx for the thought but I have ROCK on NUC and it’s hardwired all the way.

I have the same issue, I’m always rebooting my roon server because it can’t be found. I have a dedicated computer setup as my room server on a PC.
