Hello @Thomas_Wible,
Thanks for reaching out. Can you please confirm if other remote devices (like another phone, tablet, or computer) also lose connection to your Titan, or is the issue only happening on your phone?
This will help us narrow down where the problem lies.
I have a Windows 11 laptop and a newer Android phone which are having the same intermittent issue of losing connection. The music stops, preamp shows DSD64 and a slight clicking noise is heard from the speakers. On the laptop the connection is lost and a bubble pops saying choose device. If I go to settings the Titan flashes on and off as there, and then gone. I rebooted everything multiple times. Latest OS on Titan. Wired connection to modem.
After some digging, I found that the USB connection to my McIntosh C53 was dropping out. The cable and set up have been stable for about a year with no issues and no movement of the cables. I tried using the other USB A port on the Titan and it seems good so far. I may try another cable if the problem returns. Is it possible that one port on the Titan went bad?
I would try a new cable back into the other port and see if the problem happens again.
I tried three cables, same result. I switched to using my laptop as a Roon server as a test via USB to my C53 premap with DA2 DAC and it plays but there are clicks and ticks and the HZ displayed seems wrong. I am currently suspecting the DAC and not the Titan. I hope to borrow a DAC and test the theory.
You said you tried using the other USB A port and it seemed fine? Did the problem return on this port?
I did and initially things seemed good, then it went south so that was a quick judgement that was wrong. I am currently thinking it is my DAC. I have two options I’m going to try and see if I can determine if the problem is the Titan or the DAC. I will update when I do the test.
Hey @Thomas_Wible,
Certainly, let us know how the above tests go! We’ll be monitoring for your reply. Thank you! ![]()
