The latest diagnostic logging available from this Roon Server instance shows the active Wasapi USB device dropping and reenumerating as an available endpoint to RAAT. Generally, this means Windows is momentarily suspending the USB port due to a power saver setting and then reenumerating. This doesn’t seem to depend on any transcoding or processing performed by the DAC or by Roon, since the dropouts occur during 44.1KHz, 88Khz, and 192KHz playback of both local and Qobuz files.
As a next step, please try plugging this DAC directly into a back USB port on the computer itself (or a powered external hub) rather than an unpowered shared USB hub, as applicable.
In Windows Device Manager, open each “USB Root Hub” and “Generic USB Hub” entry, and the M15i itself. On the Power Management tab of each, clear “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
