What’s shown in the screenshot is what happens if I attempt to toggle Exclusive Mode on or off.
Restarting the core shows them as enabled again.
All DSP is off.
I had a similar problem when these same USB speakers were connect to my Core on Windows.
My Core is now on a Mac.
But in this case I can’t play via the built in Mac speakers either.
Thanks for reaching otu. Does this issue happen only when using the ORA, or does it happen when using other USB audio devices as well? Do you have any VPNs or additional firewall apps that could be blocking Roon from communicating with the device after establishing Exclusive mode?
No luck trying other USB devices.
Trying to enable a new device would start the infinite enabling loop pictured above requiring a restart.
I tried 2 USB devices and the built in speakers with Exclusive mode on or off and Mac Audio output set to different outputs.
Same result - Too many failures, with both local music and Qobuz.
No VPNs or Firewalls.
MacOS 26.2
Networked zones work fine. This only happens on the Mac with Roon Server installed.
The USB devices and built in speakers all work with all other audio apps.
Just discovered something:
I have Roon Server on my Mac mini.
This issue only happens if the Roon App is open on my MacBook Air.
If I close the Roon app on the MacBook Air playback on the MacMini works as expected.
At one time my Roon Server was on the MacBook Air.
After I moved it to the MacMini I uninstalled Roon from the MacBook Air and (I thought) manually removed all traces of Roon and reinstalled.
