I want to back up oon, but I don’t know how to enter the “network shared location”.
Roon Core is on Intel NUC (192.168.1.11)
Windows PC is (192.168.1.19)
I created a “RoonBackups” folder on the “E drive” of my Windows PC.
In the Roon app on my Windows PC, I went to “Backup”, “Backup now”, “Manual backup”, “Select location”, and “Network shared location”, and entered “\D:\RoonBackups”, but it says “Unable to connect: Host not found”.
Please tell me what string I should enter in this case.
@ansin_plaza I believe the issue is that you created the Roon backup directory folder on your E: drive, but you listed this location in Roon for you backup directory:
“\D:\RoonBackups”
If you change the “D” to an “E” does your backup work?
The backup directory should resemble this I believe:
If you are adding a network share, then you are using the wrong format for the network share location.
It must be of the form of either:
\\<hostname of the PC>\<shared folder name> or
\\<IP address of the PC>\<shared folder name>
So, if you use the second form, you would use \\192.168.1.19\RoonBackups
You also need to enter the access credentials required for the shared folder in the username and password fields, and as I told you in your other thread on this issue, the username must be a local Windows account on the PC, not a Microsoft Account (which has the form of an email address).
