Track display (for a dvd player without a TV)

It seems to me that there is a need for an easy-to-read HDMI track display for a dvd player being used as a cd transport to a dac. At present, a TV fits that role. A stereo system may not have a TV, and the user may not want to add one.

The device I have in mind would grab the track and CD info via HDMI and display it, just like on a CD player. That is all it would do.

I use a Sony UBP X800m2 dvd player and Cambridge Audio dac for this purpose.
I like the Sony, because it also plays SACDs. I’m limited to which hifi system (of three) it can join, because it needs a TV to navigate tracks.

Anybody know of a solution?

Would a portable monitor not be the answer?

Yes, that would. However, the print is small in proportion. What would be ideal is an HDMI device that replicates a vintage, bright, readable display
