Describe the issue

I have Roon server running on an M4 MacMini with 16GB ram and Mac OS 15.1.1.

Recently I've been unable to play anything at all on either of two Mac laptops that have worked fine for a long time (either via devices connected to them or straight out of the headphones/speakers).

The end point shows, but all tracks now skip immediately until I get the "too many issues" error.

Both laptops are on MacOS 15.2.

I can play audio from a Wiim Pro and Platin Hub end point, and on my phone (iOS 18.2.1, with Roon at home and Arc), all without issue.

I am using the latest versions of Roon (1496). I keep hoping an update will fix it, but no joy.

Describe your network setup

They are all connected by Wifi (it's not possible to use a wired network, but it's only these Macs that have a problem). The router is an Orbi RBR40 running V2.7.3.22.

Hi @Alex_Sanders,

Thank you for your post. Diagnostics indicate that you’re encountering a clock sync error between Apple coreaudio and the RAATServer instance contained in each of these Roon remote instances.

This is a known issue for which development has a fix in progress. Restarting RAATServer by closing/reopening Roon on the affected machines may relieve symptoms in the meantime.

There are also timeouts affecting buffering throughout logs, which is contributing to playback interruptions. If you have mesh nodes attached to this Orbi router, make sure that “Disable IGMP Proxying” is toggled off.

For due diligence, on the machines running MacOS 15.2+, navigate to your System Settings → WiFi → Details and see whether changes introduced with Sequoia have defaulted to a rotating MAC address. You might want to set a Fixed WiFi Address to prevent IP changes from disrupting connectivity to remotes.

Thanks for the update Connor. I’ve tried your suggestions but they did not resolve the problem.

Do you have an ETA for the fix? It’s been issue for a while now. I’m a software engineer myself, so I know that bugs get shipped, but having spent hundreds of dollars on this is software, it’s extremely frustrating to have it just stop working.

Hey @Alex_Sanders,

We’ve seen some improvements to the behavior you’ve described in a recent Mac Sequoia update - 15.3

If you’re able to update, let us know if you continue having issues. :+1:
