Tracks Skipping and Erroring with Eversolo T10 (ref#CL0DLU) [Investigating]

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· Tracks skipping and eventually error out on Nucleus One

Tell us about your home network

· eero

To give more context, I am on eero Max 7 router and network with Advanced Security turned off for troubleshooting purposes. That was not it.

I am on TIDAL with no MQA enabled with 500ms replay delay enabled. 0ms does the same thing.

Once I play, couple or song will play fine, then 3-4 will skip and then errors out for slow network which is 1Gpbs/1Gpbs fiber on Eversolo T10 being hardwired. All cables replaced and still getting the same results. T10 connected to DA2 DAC in C2800 McIntosh Preamp.

Hi @Damian_Styga,

Thank you for your post.

We’ll require a set of logs from the Nucleus in order to pinpoint these dropouts, but the device isn’t visible to our diagnostic servers at this time.

At your convenience, please follow the instructions here to locate the logs folder within your Roon database (the Roon Server folder) and upload it here as a .zip.

You’ll need to access the Nucleus One via the network on another machine to access the actual database folder rather than the Roon client on your remotes.

We’ll follow up from there with more information. Thank you!

@connor Logs submitted. Thank you so much for your help! I submitted the logs under my community name.

@connor On the other hand, any idea why you can’t see my device online? Is it my firewall blocking it, or is there something else?

@connor I got video of this happening on Roon app. Would you like me to upload it too? Let me know. Also, any update from the logs.

@connor What’s the approximate time of Roon Tech Support response after providing logs?

Thanks.

Hello @Damian_Styga

We are sorry for the wait on this one. Replies are taking longer than usual because our team is working with limited resources right now. We do not have a set timeframe, but we are working through the cases in order.

Thank you for uploading the logs. We went through them, and here is what they show.

The errors you see are not coming from TIDAL or from the Nucleus itself. Each time a track is stopped with an error, Roon had just failed to check the timing between the Nucleus and the Eversolo T10. That check normally takes a few milliseconds, but in the logs it sometimes takes 150 to 500 milliseconds, mostly on Sept 24 (about 4 PM to 6 PM), Sept 28 (about 10 AM), and Sept 30 (about 1:40 PM to 2:05 PM). Nothing on the Nucleus side stands out during those times, so the delay is somewhere between the Nucleus and the T10. We cannot yet tell whether the cause is the T10, the cable, or the eero setup.

To narrow it down, please let us know:

  1. Which eero device the Nucleus is plugged into, and which one the T10 is plugged into (the same eero, different eeros, or through a switch).
  2. Please select the iPad as the output in Roon and play the same music for 10 to 15 minutes. Please let us know whether the skipping and errors also happen there.
  3. When a track skips, does it skip on its own, or after you press Next on the T10 or its remote?

You asked why our diagnostic tool could not see your Nucleus. Your logs show it connecting to Roon normally, and we do not see a firewall blocking it. We are not sure yet why it was not listed. Your video is not needed for now, since the logs show what we need.

I gathered all of that from Claude response on my own too. Checks out to what I found out. Anyway, just so you know, Roon dealer support is working on my case through MusicDirect.com tech support as well. Responses below in bold.

  1. Which eero device the Nucleus is plugged into, and which one the T10 is plugged into (the same eero, different eeros, or through a switch).

Same eero (I only have one Max7) and both Nucleus One and T10 are on 2.5 ports. I tried swapping to 10Gbps set, same.

  2. Please select the iPad as the output in Roon and play the same music for 10 to 15 minutes. Please let us know whether the skipping and errors also happen there.

I tried that on a WiFi Win 11 laptop. Flawless playing. Can skip every second and does not miss a heartbeat. T10 chokes. Tried it on iPad previously, same issue.

  3. When a track skips, does it skip on its own, or after you press Next on the T10 or its remote?

Skips on its own within remote or T10 screen. It does not make a difference.

I already swapped the cables. I tried turning off Advanced Security on it. Same difference.

Oh my more thing, the device firmware from Eversolo has been upgraded twice since its inception, and the problem was there all along for me.

I do not think it’s the eero, honestly. Must be something with the LAN port on T10 or device itself.

@vadim @connor Eversolo reached out to me again this morning to say they were able to reproduce this error and its symptoms on their end.

Hi @Damian_Styga,

Thanks for the update. Since Eversolo is able to reproduce this on their end as well, this points to a device-specific issue. We’re standing by in case the Eversolo team needs anything from us.

@noris They are able to reproduce this issue on their end but it seems to point to RAAT issue and they seem to going in circles on this asking me same questions. I hope they do find the solution with your assistance.

I’m seeing similar issues with my RPI through RAAT. Also using a Nucleus One.

I’ve reverted to using Airplay as 1 of my 2 main zones doesn’t appear anymore, only on Airplay.

Hi @Damian_Styga, @bernardb50,

We’re going to confirm the status of this investigation with our Partners team behind the scenes and provide a thorough update here as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
