Tracks sort order

Hi, new user here, basic question. I tried Tracks view today for my music, and was surprised to see it sorting on Last Name, even though I’ve chosen First Name in Settings for Artists and Composers. Any way to see it sorted by First Name?

Hi Howard,

I confirmed this and found that it does sort according to your preference when in Artist and Album Views, but not Track View.

I did a search and I believe you may be the first one to notice.

Let’s flag @support and confirm if this is a bug or not.

Thanks Eric for looking after this. I’m on the road right now, but is it possible what I noticed with Tracks is also true of Composer, ie, it sorts only on last name?

There is another place where the artist sort setting is ignored.

I have set the artist sort to last name, but if I go into the albums view and sort the albums by ‘Most Played’ then the never played albums are sorted by the first name of the artist instead of the last name.

@Eric I found another case in which the artist sort setting isn’t used.

If you select a record label from the Discover screen then the album view opens with the focus set to the label, but the matching albums are sorted on first name instead of last name that I specified in my setup. If you do this manually, i.e. open the album view and then set the focus to the same label, artist sorting is as configured.

I hope this information will be helpful to find a global fix for this.
