Transcend PCIe SSD 110S

I have now had two defective Transcend PCIe SSD 100S. I installed them in a NUC8i5BEK in order to install ROCK. Both times the installation of ROCK worked, but after a few minutes of operation ROCK crashed and the SSD LED of the NUC went on solid.
The SSD was dead and could not be revived (no formatting possible).
Has anyone else had issues with this type of SSD?
Thanks for any feedback

never used the 100S – but we love the Transcend MTS 800 and 800S.

Thanks @danny
I saw that the MTS 800/s is on the Intel Validated list for 8th gen NUCs and the 100S is not.
So the 100S might have a compatibility issue. Anyway, the 128gb Samsung M.2 SATA3 SSD (from a T480s) I have inserted instead works like a charm.
So I’ll stay away from the 100S for NUC duty.

Do you happen to be the guy who reported a problem and wrote a 1-star review at Amazon, saying that it failed after 1 hour?

Generally, cheap SSD should be avoided. Not talking about a specific brand here, but cheap SSD is cheap because they use low grade NAND chips, including those that have failed the QC test from large manufacturers (who sell the failed chips to others, perhaps under another brand). Generally, buying a SSD from a brand which also manufacture their own NAND chips is also safer.

I agree. I tend to use Samsung SSDs.

Western Digital and Samsung storage here. And one Intel NVME M.2.

No, I’m not
