Description of Issue
Hi all
I have my music collection of around 16K track sitting on my Western Digital, 2TB NAS.
I would like to transfer it to a Synology DS920 NAS.
How do I transfer it so that I get all the setting that I have made in Roon.
I have backed up the Roon database by running backup from settings
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I do not think this is quite right @Stampie
No where in the steps we are restoring the old backup/database.
This in more like removing the existing storage and adding a new storage
I think it should be as simple as copying your music collection to a shared folder on the NAS and then editing the storage location in Roon. All of the edits are retained in the database on the NUC. Roon might take a while to re-scan the folder, but it should work just fine.
Be mindful of the fact that, from recent threads discussing loss of NAS connecticity, you will need to setup a username and Password for Roon to access the share.
Anonymous shares no longer seem to be valid.

Oh, I see. that makes sense. Never knew that the database is retained in NUC.
Regarding the NAS connectivity issues, is there any tutorial do get it right?
Thanks
Set up a new user (e.g. Roon) on your Synology and allocate it a password. Create a new shared folder for your music and copy the music across. Might be easiest to do this by plugging the external drive into one of the DS’ USB ports.
Allocate the “Roon” user read only permissions to the share, and then use these credentials when adding the storage location to Roon.
