I recently bought a new Mac Mini and transferred my music folder from the old Mac Mini to the new one. After restoring the backup and launching the server, the music appears for a second but then the library shows as empty.
Did you also set your music folder up as a watched folder within your Roon Settings>Storage? If you can, please share a screenshot of your storage settings screen.
Thank you! After changing the music folder, the library is now showing correctly. However, all the music is listed as if it was added today. Is there a way to restore the original “date added” information?
Additionally, I can see my Playlists and Tags names, but Tracks are no longer visible in these. It’s quite strange—could you please advise on how to resolve this?
I’d like to try again from scratch.
Could you please confirm if my planned process for transferring my music library is correct? This is what I’ve done but it did not work so I want to make sure I’m not missing anything.
Current setup:
• Mac 1: Music library is on an external hard drive, with automatic backups saved on the same drive.
• Mac 2: I want the music library stored locally (not on an external drive).
Planned steps:
1. Move the music library folder from the external hard drive to Mac 2.
2. Restore the backup from the external hard drive on Mac 2.
I’ve noticed that the wheel keeps spinning (see attached screenshot). Could this be related to the issue I encountered earlier? It has been spinning for several days now. Is there anything I should do to resolve this before transferring my library to the new Mac?
I have tried to follow these instructions but I’m stuck on the Preparation step ("Also, on your old server, please confirm that the import process has completed. You can monitor this process by clicking the spinner in the top-right. If you don’t have a spinner here, you are done importing.). I’ve been having an endless spinner for a week now.
I have tried quitting Roon and restarting but it keeps spinning. Please help.
