Are you still facing the issue on the different device

· No, the issue remains the same

· no idea what that means or how to do that

Describe the issue

my sonictransporter i5 died - got a net one i7 - how to transfer my existing roon settings from old box to new box so that my room account and settings open on the new sonictransporter i7

Describe your network setup

forget it - too complicated!!!!

This is for a Nucleus, but the principle is the same …

thx for reply - I found that but problem is existing i5 box literally will not turn on or connect - cant access existing room to access backup etc. - unless backup is on cloud?

Have you been taking periodic Roon database backups (should be to an external accessible disk).

It’s the Roon database that stores all your favourites, playlists, metadata edits, etc. etc.

If you don’t have any saved backups then without an operational i5 (to create one) you will have to start from scratch again with Roon.

That said if you’re using a streaming service (Tidal/Qobuz/KKbox) any favourites previously made will be restored.

great info - plugged my ext hard drive in, found the backups, restored the most recent backup and now…see the “login” button which I press, it shows me “choose an account” and I choose the email address which is my Roon account - great…I click that and it throws me right back to the “login” button - a circle that never actually opens roon - I tried to open roon on my phone and it says i’m already logged in…stuck

hey - long story short I unlaunched the old version of roon and it solved it - I’m in and thanks so!!! much for the help. VERY much appreciate it.
