· Trigon Exxceed front display stuck on logo after update to Roon 2.67 (Build 1661)

Hello,

I am running Roon Server 2.67 (Build 1661) directly on a Trigon Exxceed Audio Server.

After updating to Build 1661, the front display of the Trigon no longer shows album artwork and track information. The display remains stuck on the Trigon Exxceed logo screen.

What works correctly:

Audio playback works normally.
Album artwork is displayed correctly in Roon Remote.
The Trigon Exxceed playback zone works normally.
The display is enabled in Settings > Displays.
The display appears correctly as "Trigon Exxceed".
Power cycling the Exxceed did not solve the issue.

Additional troubleshooting:

Opening http://192.168.1.203:9330/display/index.html automatically redirects to index2.html.
index2.html correctly displays album artwork, artist background image, track information and progress bar in a PC browser.
This confirms that Roon is generating the display content correctly.
The issue seems limited to the integrated front-panel display/browser of the Trigon Exxceed.

Question:
Has anything changed in recent Roon releases (2.67 / Build 1661) regarding Web Display rendering or browser compatibility that could affect older embedded display devices such as the Trigon Exxceed?

I can provide screenshots of:

The Trigon front display stuck on the logo.
The working index2.html display page in a browser.
Roon Settings > Displays showing the display enabled.

Thank you.

· Router: Internet Box (Swisscom)
Network: Gigabit Ethernet LAN
Roon Server running directly on Trigon Exxceed (192.168.1.203)
Roon Remote running on Windows PC and Android tablet
No VPN in use
No Wi-Fi extenders involved in the audio path
All devices are on the same subnet (192.168.1.x)
Audio playback, Roon Remote communication and Web Display access are working correctly.
The issue only affects the integrated front display of the Trigon Exxceed.

Have you previously been running Roon 2.65 or 2.66?

I ask because 2.65 introduced major changes and a requirement for glibc 2.27 and OpenSSL 1.1.1 or later.

The display was working normally for years until the end of last week. I was regularly seeing album artwork and track information on the Trigon front panel.
The issue only appeared after the recent update to Roon 2.67 Build 1661.
Audio playback, Roon Remote, and the Web Display page (index2.html) continue to work normally.

I can only assume from your response that you haven’t knowingly updated to 2.65 recently. Can you share a screenshot of your update settings for the Triton by visiting Roon Settings → About, and adjacent to the Triton, click on the gear icon.

However, it looks like the Triton OS may need an update, and I recommend that you reach out to them, share this Release Note, and ask them if they continue to support Roon’s minimum requirements.

Attached is the screenshot you requested.

The server is running:

  • Roon Server 2.67 (Build 1661)

  • Linux 4.15.0-213-generic

As mentioned previously, the Trigon display was working normally until the end of last week and the issue only appeared recently.

Thanks.

No, this isn’t what was requested. The screenshot should look like this. Please click on the gear icon. :gear:

Attached is the screenshot you requested.

It appears that my server is configured to automatically install all updates.

Thanks.

Hi @laurent.mangnan,

Thank you for the screenshots. This is very helpful.

Looking at your setup, the Roon Server is running on Linux 4.15.0 which is an older kernel. The display content itself is clearly working correctly — as you confirmed, index2.html renders properly in a PC browser. This points to a compatibility issue between the new web display code introduced in recent Roon builds and the embedded browser running inside the Trigon Exxceed’s front panel display.

Roon’s web display was updated as part of the .NET 10 migration in build 2.65, and the new index2.html may use web standards or JavaScript features that the Trigon’s internal browser engine doesn’t support.

We would recommend reaching out to Trigon directly and sharing the following:

  • The issue started after updating to Roon 2.67 (build 1661)
  • The web display at index2.html works correctly in modern browsers but not on the Exxceed’s front panel
  • Ask whether a firmware update is available for the front panel display, or whether they are aware of a browser compatibility issue with recent Roon web display changes

Thank you for the thorough troubleshooting!

Hi Vadim,

Thank you very much for your help and for taking the time to investigate this issue.

Your explanation makes sense and helps clarify where the problem is likely coming from.
I will contact Trigon and share your findings with them.

I appreciate the thorough troubleshooting and support.

Best regards,

Laurent

Hello @laurent.mangnan,

Thank you for the update! Please do keep us posted on what Trigon says — if they identify a fix or workaround, it would be very helpful to share here for other Exxceed users who may encounter the same issue.
