Trouble with networked dac

Hi there,

I have a Merdian 218 Dac and a macbook pro 2017 which is also my core. I went to college and was only able to bridge my computer and dac together through an ethernet cable due, and I want to switch back to having Roon networked to my dac. When I ip scanned my network, the dac it appears to be connect but I am unable to find my dac in the networked audio tab. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you are now using in a campus network you need to make sure the up networks are the same for the core and the dac… ie the first 3 segment addresses must be indentical… 192.168.1.x where is can be anything from 1-254

Hi @Andrew_Christiansen — Thank you for the report, I appreciate the details here.

To start, may I kindly ask that you please provide a brief description of your current setup using this link as a guide. Make sure to describe your network configuration/topology, including any networking hardware currently in use, so we can have a clear understanding of how your devices are communicating. Having a clearer picture of this will help me understand what type of networking issues may be occuring here.

Prior to this, were you able to connect the DAC to the same Core over the network?

Can you please confirm the following:

  • Have you rebooted you Core machine, DAC, and network devices? Did you notice any change in behavior here, even temporarily?
  • Are there any firewalls or antivirus software that could be preventing the Core machine from seeing the DAC over the network?

Regards,
Dylan
