· The problem is that Roon is not connecting up in this PC after doing a complete reinstallation of a backup. It will not accept this PC despite being pointed to it. Your vRoon server doesn't seem to be runninmg"!!! Start Roon server - Roon not respondinmg
Thanks for reaching out. A couple of things would help us understand what’s going on.
Could you please walk us through exactly how you did the backup and restore? Specifically: did you use Roon’s own Backup feature (Settings > Backups) to restore onto this PC, or was it done some other way?
Also, is this the same physical PC you were using before, just with Windows reinstalled, or is this a different PC entirely that you’re now pointing Roon to for the first time?
One more thing: you mentioned Fortect. Could you please tell us whether you installed or ran it before or after Roon stopped connecting? Tools like that sometimes change firewall rules or background processes, and we want to rule out whether it’s affecting Roon Server rather than fixing it.
Once we know how the backup was restored and whether this is a new or existing PC, we’ll have a much clearer path to getting Roon Server running again.
All very perplexing. I have now reinstalled two different backups and Fortext finally fixed the hanging problems although I had trouble with it clashing with Malwarfebytes, a program I thought was disabled but was not so cased the system to crash. I managed to isolate (but unfortunately not delete) malwarfebytes so Fortext worked so Roon re0connected in this PC,
But there remains a very odd problem. All editing tags detc are there but a heap of cover graphics are missing. Yet on a notebook, used as a remote, a;; covers appear!! And, on this PC where Roon is installed, openning up an album might, or might not show its cover, yet it is absent in a general display! I will illustrate with a couple of screen shots.
