Hi I am trying to play audio from Roon from my iPad Pro …. Previously I had an iPad icon in the bottom right of the screen…. Now it only states system and Macintosh …. I have tried to look in audio section of settings where previously there was the iPad icon but no more…. When I hit play in Roon nothing happens…. Can anyone help?
On which control device are you when you do this, the iPad itself or another one?
I am on the iPad Pro
Is your iPad set as a private zone in audio settings?
No …. There is no iPad icon in the audio settings of Roon so iPad is not in private zone
Fully exit the iPad Roon app (by swiping it away from the background apps) and restart it. On my iPads it sometimes doesn’t initialise the local endpoint.
It could also be caused by a more complex network setup in which your Roon Server and iPad Pro are in different subnets or VLANs.
In my setup I have my Roon Server and audio streamers in a “Media” VLAN, but the iPad Pro that I use to control Roon is in a “User” VLAN. I can control the Roon Server from my iPad, but I cannot play music from Roon on directly on the iPad.
I’ve even tried deleting the Roon app from my iPad and reinstalling it, but still no joy
Hi @Mitesh_Doshi,
As you’ve now created a support I’m closing this topic.
