Description Of Issue
Hello everybody,
I have a problem. In addition to an old Mac Mini, late 2010 I will buy a Mac Mini with Intel Processor i5, 16 GB RAM, SSD 512 GB.

Will it be possible to install on this new Mac Mini RoonServer and use the old Mac Mini connected by USB to external HDD’s with all my music files?

And use my iPad with Roon Remote for headless use?

Why the old Mac Mini? Because that has 4 USB inputs for my external HDD’s.

Thanks, Michel G.

Hi, I have that set up and it works fine. You just need both Mac’s on the same network.

That sounds fantastic, thank you Brennan.

The old Mac with the files becomes a file server. Enable “File Sharing” in system preferences -> sharing.

Then you access the share directly from your new Roon server.

Thank you, Peter. I see.
