Chris Wilson, the Australian singer/songwriter (Crown of Thorns and solo) is being confused with the American Chris Wilson (The Barracudas, Flamin’ Groovies).
There is also a conflation between jazz musician Steve Wilson and Progressive rock guitarist Steven Wilson, going so far as to have the bio of one overlaid with a photo of the other . . .

Same problem still exists with Nancy Wilson the jazz singer and Nancy Wilson of Heart.
